WHITMORE, John, Middletown. Invt. £700-01-03. Taken 16 June, 1743, by Jabez HAMLIN and William ROCKWELL. Will dated 25 May 1743.
         
I, John WHITMORE of Middletown, in the County of Hartford, do make and ordain this my last will and testament: I give, bequeath, demise and dispose of all and every part of my estate, both real and personal (after my just debts and funeral charges are paid), unto Ruth, my dearly beloved wife, and to her heirs and assigns forever. And I do hereby nominate, constitute and appoint my loving wife, Ruth WHITMORE, sole executrix t this my last will and testament.

Court Record, Page 28 -- 2 August, 1743: The last will and testament of John WHITMORE, late of Middletown decd., was now exhibited in Court by Ruth WHITMORE, executrix. Will proven. Inventory exhibited and ordered on file.
         
Page 47 -- 7 August, 1744: William ROCKWELL, one of the commissioners on the estate of John WHITMORE, late of Middletown decd., moves to this Court for longer time to adjust the claims of the creditiors on the sd. estate. He was allowed 6 months.
         
Page 54 -- 5 February, 1744-5: Report of the commissioners on the estate of John WHITMORE, late of Middletown decd., under the hands of William SOUTHMAYD and William ROCKWELL, commissioners, which report is accepted and ordered to be kept on file.
