Ebenezer WETMORE, Middletown. Invt. £2385-10-08. Taken 22 Feb 1743, by Solomon ADKINS & Samuel SHEPHERD. Will dated 11 Jan 1743.

I, Ebenezer WETMORE of Middletown, in the County of Hartford, do make this my last will & testament: Imprimis: I give unto Elizabeth, my wife, the 1-3 part of all my personal estate, and the use of 1-2 of my dwelling house, barn, & the southern 1-2 of my homelott during the time she remains my widow. I give to my only son John WETMORE all my lands and buildings on the west side of the Great River. I also give him my gunn, sword & amunition, & my team & husbandry tools & eutensisl & joinery tools, he paying to my eldest daughter Mary wETMORE the sum of £50 old tenor money within 12 months after he shall attain to lawful age. I give to my four daughters all the remainder of my personal estate, and all my lands in the great lott on the east side of the Great River which was my grandfather SAVIDGE's, to be equally divided among them (besides the sd. £50, which I particularly give to my daughter Mary, and except my old gunn, which I give to my daughter Elizabeth.) And my will is and I do hereby impower my executors after named to sell my land at Wongunk and in the three miles division to pay my just debts & funeral charges; and what remains to be divided equally among my four daughters. And I appoint my wife Elizabeth & my friend William ROCKWELL executors.

Court Record, Page 22 -- 5 Apr 1743: The last will & testament of Ebenezer WETMORE of Middletown was exhibited in Court by Elizabeth WETMORE, widow & relict of sd. decd., & executrix. Will being proven & inventory exhibited, they were ordered recorded and kept on file.

Page 2 (Vol. XVI) -- 26 Sep 1750: An account of Adms. was exhibited in Court by Elizabeth WETMORE, Adms. to the last will of the decd. Accepted. This Court appoint Jonathan ALLIN, Ephraim ADKINS & Nathaniel GILBERT, of Middletown, to distribute the estate.
