Daniel STOW, Middletown. Invt. £1372-17-01. Taken 2 Feb 1744, by Solomon ADKINS & William ROCKWELL. Will dated 13 Jan 1744.

I, Daniel STOW of Middletown, in the County of Hartford, do make this my last will & testament: Imprimis: I give to my eldest son Daniel STOW and to his heirs & assigns forever the equal half of all my estate, both real & personal, aftr my just debts & funeral charges are paid. I give to my other two children, Rebeckah STOW & George STOW, in equal parts forever, all the other half of my estate, both real & personal. And my will is that my eldest son shall have all my homelott with the buildings thereon, as all my lands on the east side of the Connecticut River; and what that amounts to more than an equal half of my estate he shall pay the 1-2 thereof to his sister within one year after he shall attain to lawful age, and the other half to his brother within one year after he shall attain to lawful age. And I do hereby order and impower my executor to sell my part of the sloop Sarah (if I do not do it before my decease) and such other of my personal estate as will be likely to waste or decay, in particular my stock & provisions, and what of the produce thereof shall remain after my just debts & funeral charges are paid shall be let out on interest for my childrenn when they come to lawful age. And whereas, I have agreed to sell to my brother Samuel STOW my right in the land where he now dwells, and have received some part of the pay for the same, I do hereby impower my executor after named to pass a legal conveyance thereof to my sd. brother upon his paying what is now coming or due for the same. I appoint my worth friend Dr. Isaac LEE sole executor.

Page 39 -- 15 Feb 1743-4: Daniel STOW, a minor, 17 years of age, son of Daniel STOW, chose Dr. Isaac LEE to be his guardian. Recog., £300. Rebeckah STOW, age 16 years, chose Ephraim ADKINS to be her guardian. And the Court appoint Ephraim ADKINS guardian to George STOW, a minor son of Daniel STOW. Recog., £500.
