Court Record, Page 131 -- 5 Jun 1750: This Court grant Adms. on the estate of Samuel SHEPHERD, late of Middletown deceased, unto Christian SHEPHERD, widow, who gave bonds with Will SAVAGE of Middletown of £2000.

Page 40 (Vol. XVI) -- 5 Nov 1751: Christian SHEPHERD, a minor, 16 years of age, daughter of Deacon Samuel SHEPHERD, chose her mother Christian SHEPHERD to be her guardian. Also, this Court appoint the sd. Christian SHEPHERD guardian to Jared SHEPHERD, age 13 years, and Mary SHEPHERD, 8 years; also, Samuel SHEPHERD, age 18 years, chose his mother to be his guardian. Recog. £600.

Page 42 -- 5 Nov 1751: An account of Adms. was now exhibited in Cuort by Christian SHEPHERD, Adms. Accepted. This Court order the estate to be distributed (£12,286-13-11): To the widow, 1-3 part of the moveable estate; and to the heirs of Edward SHEPHERD, he being the eldest son, a double share of sd. estate; and to Samuel & Jared SHEPHERD and Christian & Mary SHEPHERD, to each of them their single shares of sd. estate. And appoint Capt. Jonathan ALLIN, Capt. Jacob WHITMORE & Mr. Benjamin ADKINS distributors.
