NOW all Men by these Presents, That we Benjamin Carter & John Carter of Killingworth in the County of New London in the Colony of Connecticut in New England are Holden and ? and firmly Bound and Obliged unto Sam'll Hill Esq; Judge of the Court of Probate for the District of Guilford in the Penal Sum of one Thousand pounds Lawfull money of said Colony: To be Paid to the said Sam'll Hill Judge, or to his certain Attorney or Successors, in ? office To the which Payment well and truly to be Made and Done, we the said Benj'm Carter & John Carter do Bind our Selves and each of Us, our Heirs, Executors and Administrators, and each and every of them, for and in the Whole Firmly by these Presents, Signed with our Hands and Sealed with out Seals. Dated at Guilford the Seventeenth? Day of December Anno Domini, One Thousand Seven Hundred and fifty one And in the Twenty fifth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George of Second by the Grace of GOD of GREAT BRITAIN, FRANCE and IRELAND, King, Defender of the Faith, &c.
The condition of this Obligation is such, That if the above Bounden Benjamin Carter Administrator of all, and singular the Goods, Chattels, Credits, and Estate of Robert Carter Deceased, do make, or cause to be made a true, and perfect Inventory of all, and singular the Goods, Chattels, Credits, and Estate of the said Deceased, which have, or shall come to the Hands, Possession or Knowledge of the said Benjamin Carter or into the Hands, or Possession of any other Person, or Persons for him; and the same so made do Exhibit, or cause to be Exhibited into the Registry of the said Court of Probates in the District of Guilford at, or before the Third Tuss? Day of January next Ensuing: And the same Goods, Chattels, Credits, and Estate; and all other the Goods, Chattels, Credits, and Estate of the said Deceased at the Time of his Death, which at any time after shall come into the Hands, or Possession of the said Benjamin Carter or into the Hands, or Possession of the said Benjamin Carter or into the Hands, or Possession of any other Person, or Persons for him do well, and truly Administer according to Law. And further, Do make, or cause to be made a true, and just
Account of his said Administration, at, or before the Third Tuss? Day of March ? And all the Rest, and Residue of the said Goods, Chattels, Credits, and Estate which shall be found Remaining upon the said Administrators Account; the same being first Examined, and Allowed by the said Court of Probates, shall Deliver, and Pay unto such Person, or Persons respectively, as the said Court of Probates, by their Decree, or Sentence, pursuant to the true Intent, and Meaning of the Law shall Limit, and Appoint. And if it shall hereafter Appear that any Last Will, and Testament was made by the said Deceased; and the Executor, or Executors therein Names do Exhibit the same into the said Court, making Request to have it Allowed, and Approved accordingly; if the said Benjamin Carter being thereunto Required do Render, and Deliver the said Letters of Administration, (Approbation of such Testament being first had, and made) in the said Court, then this Obligation to be Void, and of none Effect; or else to Remain in full Force, and Virtue.
