MEMBERS who are ACTUAL SONS of SOLDIERS OF THE REVOLUTION

JOHN ADAMS, of Holden, Mass., born May 9, 1814, son of Elisha Adams, of Dublin, New Hampshire, born 1765, died 1837, whose name appears in the New Hampshire Revolutionary Rolls of six months' men raised to serve in the Continental Army at West Point in 1781.

ALBERT BARNES, of Kearsarge, New Hampshire, born at North Conway, New Hampshire, Dec. 9, 1818, son of Amos Barnes, born in Groton, Mass., 1755, died North Conway, New Hampshire, 1840, who served in Colonel John Stark's Regiment of New Hampshire militia at the battle of Bunker Hill. Subsequently served in New York and in the expedition to Canada, joining Washington's army in December, 1776, and participating in the battle of Trenton. He re-enlisted in 1777 for two years, and was at Valley Forge, Monmouth, and the expedition under General Sullivan in the Indian Country.

EDMUND HARVEY NEWTON BLOOD, of Pepperell, Mass., born April 13, 1835, son of Edmund Blood, of Pepperell, born July 26, 1764; died Nov. 16, 1842, who enlisted in the Continental Army for six months; marched July 4, 1780; discharged Dec. 5, 1870. Return dated Camp Totoway. He also served on the frigate"Hague," commanded by Capt. John Manley. The statement of the settlement for his share of prizes captured now in the possession of his son.

SAMUEL DOOLITTLE BROOKS, M. D., of Springfield, Mass., born in Pittsfield, Mass. March 4, 1816, and THOMAS LAWRENCE BROOKS, of Pittsfield; born there Feb. 13, 1820, sons of Reuben Brooks, of Wallingford, Connecticut, born 1763, died 1843, who enlisted at Bristol, Conn., and received a pension for two yeas and ten months actual service in the army in five enlistments during 1778, 1779, 1780, 1781, and 1782.

BRADFORD HAMMOND COGGESAHLL, of New Bedford, born there Sept. 6, 1813, son of Gideon Coggeshall, of Tiverton, Rhode Island, born 1766, died 1821, who served as Private in the nine months men raised by Rhode Island for the Continental Army in 1782.

ISAAC NEWTON DAY, of South Hadley, born in Holyoke, Feb. 8, 1826, son of Jedediah Day, of West Springfield, born 1755, died 1839, who enlisted in April, 1775, and served six months at the siege of Boston, stationed at Roxbury; re-emlisted in Jan., 1777, and served at Ticonderoga until March 25, 1777; re-enlisted and served for three years in the Continental Army from May 10, 1777 to May 10, 1780.

JAMES MILLER EDWARDS, of Chicago, born Dec. 27, 1814, son of Ebenezer Edwards, of Acton, Mass., born 1757, died 1826, who at the age of eighteen was in Capt. John Hayward's Company of minute-men who repelled the British at the North Bridge, Concord, and was nera Capt. Isaac Davis when he was killed, April 19, 1775. He also served at the fortifying of Dorchester Heights, March 4, 1776, and did guard and mechanical work at the forts in Boston Harbor for the rest of the year 1776.

JAMES FAXTON, born Dec. 24, 1826, and his brother ELISHA JOHN FAXTON, born March 28, 1832, both residing in Salem, Mass., son of James Faxon, of Washington, New Hampshire, who at the age of sixty=eight was granted a pension for nine months and twenty-one days' actual service a Matross in the Massachusetts troops. He enlisted at Braintree, Mass., and served in Capt. Lincoln's Company, Colonel Revere's regiment.

JOHN ALLEN FAUNCE, of Taunton, born North Dartmouth, Mass., Aug. 31, 1831, son of James Faunce, of North Dartmouth, who served on the "secret expedition" against Newport, Rhode Island, in Sept. and Oct., 1777, and on an alarm at Falmouth in Sept., 1779.

EBENEZER SUMNER HOPKINS, son of Wakefield, born at South Reading, Mass., Nov. 5, 1761, died Sept. 19, 1853, who served in Col. John Jacobs' Regiment for six months service in Rhode Island in 1778. Enlisted to re-enforce the Continental Army for nine months, and served in Col. Fox's (Tenth) Regiment in 1779 and 1780, and re-enlisted for six months in 1780.

GEORGE MITCHELL, of Groveland, Mass., age eighty-six, is a son of Day Mitchell, of East Bradford, Mass., born 1760, died 1848, who served as Private in the militia when it was ordered to Rhode Island in 1777, and served two months, ten days; and again in the same place on an alarm in Dec., 1780.

HENRY R. REYNOLDS, of Boston (Dorchester District), born Boston, April 1, 1830, son of Grindall Reynolds, born at Bristol, Rhode Island, 1755, died 1847, who served as Private in the Rhode Island troops in the expedition against Rhode Island, Aug. 8, to Aug. 27, 1778. Subsequently he served for fourteen months as Sergeant, Engisn, and Lieutenant in the Massachusetts troops and received a pension when seventy-nine years of age, and resided in Boston. The pension was continued to his widow after his death.

CYRUS SYLVESTER ROCKWELL, of Westville Centre, New York, born in Stanbridge, Canada, Nov. 14, 1838, is probably the youngest surviving son of a Revolutionary soldier in the United States. His father, Jeremiah Rockwell, of Lanesboro, Mass., born in Ridgefield, Connecticut, 1756, died 1852, served nine months in the militia and Continental Army during three different enlistments in 1775 and 1781, and received a pension which was continued to his widow after his death.

ELBRIDGE G. SNOW, of Fitchburg, Mass., born March 17, 1835, son of John Snow, of Sterling, Mass., born March, 1760, died 1841, who served in defence of Boston in 1776, at Rhode Island in 1777, and in the Northern Department at the surrender of Burgoyne. Mr. Snow has in his possession a sash taken from the body of a British officer killed in the battle of Bemis' Heights, Oct. 7, 1777.

Active in advocating the measures which preceded the Revolution; a Representative to the Provincial Congress, marched to Cambridge at the Lexington alarm, and was in Capt. Joseph Parker's Company, Col. Hale's Regiment, which joined the army at Ticonderoga in July, 1776.

Corporal, Capt. Stephen Dana's Company, Col. McIntosh's Regiment, March 19 - April 5, 1776; service at Boston; also Private, Capt. Caleb Brooks' Company, Col. Dike's Regiment; his name appears on a return of men in service, Dec. 14, 1776; contributed to hire men to go to Canada; his daughter, who died in 1896, said her father was at the battle of Bunker Hill, where he assisted in making the famous rail-fence which was so effective.

Upon hearing the alarm, April 19, 1775, he rode on horseback to Concord, and was there wounded; when returning he met one of his three sons, who was hurrying to the front, and, although seriously wonded, he urged him to go on to the fight; he died from the effect of the wound July 26, 1775.
