Rev. Sidney Silas CARTER, b. 1809 in Clinton d. 25 Aug 1895, the son of Daniel and Thankful POST CARTER. He m. Phebe Lee CARTER (b. 1815 in Clinton the daughter of Silas and Hannah S. BOGUE CARTER) d. 12 Apr 1893 in Sun Prairie, Dane, Wisconsin, on 18 Sept 1836 in Killingworth. He married Philena A. Bromley and Maria E. Bromley. Children by Phebe are Sidney Silas and Judson CARTER. Children by Philena were Vinton F., Judson L., and John N. CARTER. Children by Maria Bromley were Lena May, Albert B. and William Prentice CARTER. He was a Baptist Minister and also served in the Civil War
