Deed from Samuel WRIGHT to James WRIGHT

Know all men by these Presents that I Samuel WRIGHT of Say-Brook in the County of New London and Colony of Connecticut for and in Consideration of one hundred pounds in money which I have already received of James WRIGHT of Say-Brook in ye County aforesaid have given granted bargained sold conveyed and confirmed unto him the said James WRIGHT his heirs and assigns forever Seventeen acres of land lying and being in ye Township of Say-Brook aforesaid in Oyster River Quarter neer a Hill called race Hill and lyes between Mr. ELIOT's land and Benj. WRIGHT's land and is Bounded every way on Common land and is in length from a small Black oak staddle standing about one rod South east of said Benj. WRIGHT's Southeast corner from which staddle it runs North easterly Sixty rods to a white oak tree thence Southweasterly Fourty rods to a black oak tree, thence Southwesterly Sixty rods to a white oak Tree, thence fourty rods to the first mentioned staddle all which corners monuments are marked with A.C. and stones laid about them.

To Have and to hold all the above described land be it more or less with all the priviledges and appurtenances thereof to ye only proper use and behoof of him ye said James WRIGHT his heirs &c., forever and I the said Samuel WRIGHT for myself my heirs &c., Covenant and grant to and with the said James WRIGHT his heirs and assigns that I am the sole owner of the Premises and have good right and lawful authority to convey the same as is abovesaid and that henceforth and forever hereafter it shall be lawfull for ye said James WRIGHT his heirs and assigns by force of these presents to enter upon have hold use posess and enjoy the above granted premises without any ejectment disturbance or incumbrance in the law whatsoever,

And Furthermore I the said Sam'll WRIGHT for myself my heirs executors and administrators do by these presents Covenant and engage the above demised premises unto him the said James WRIGHT his heirs and assigns against all the Claims and demands of the persons whomsoever hereafter to Warrant and Defend.

In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 4th day of December A.D. 1738.
