Deed from Samuel WRIGHT to James WRIGHT
Know all men by these presents that I Sam'll WRIGHT of Say-Brook in the County of New London and Colony of Connecticut in New England for and in Consideration of two hundred pounds in Money which I have allready in hand received of James WRIGHT of Say-Brook in the County aforesaid have given granted bargained sold Conveyed and Confirmed unto him the said James WRIGHT his heirs and assigns forever twenty three acres of land with a Dwelling House thereon standing with fences &c. Lying and being in the Township of Say-Brook aforesaid in Oyster River Quarter on a hill called Race Hill Butted and Bounded viz:- begining at a Chestnut Tree marked with J.W. and from thence it runs Northerly one hundred rods to a Stake with stones about it from thence it runs easterly ffourty rods to a chestnut tree marked with stones about it, from thence it runs Southerly Eighty rods to a stake with stones about it, from thence it runs Westerly fourty rods to the first mentioned tree, Bounded Westerly partly upon my own land and partly by William KELSEY's land, Northerly on KELCEY and Easterly on said KELCY and Highway, Southerly on Jude WRIGHT's land.
To have and to hold all ye above demised premises be it more or less with all the priviledges and appurtenances thereof to the only proper use and behoof of him the said James WRIGHT his heirs and assigns forever and I ye said Sam'll WRIGHT for myself my heirs &c., do hereby Covenant and grant to and with the said James WRIGHT his heirs and assigns that I am the sole owner of the Premises and have good right and lawful authority to convey the same as abovesaid and that henceforth and forever hereafter it shall be lawfull for the said James WRIGHT his heirs and assigns by force of these presents to enter upon have hold use possess & enjoy the above granted premises without any ejectment disturbance or incumbrance in the law Whatsoever.
And Furthermore I the said Samuel WRIGHT for myself my heirs executors and administrators do by these presents Covenant and engage the above Demised Premises unto him the said James WRIGHT his heirs and assigns against all the Claims and demands of all persons Whomsoever hereafter to Warrant Secure and Defend.
In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 4th day of December A.D. 1738.
