Deed Renewing the Bounds of Land between Benjamin WRIGHT and James WRIGHT

We the subscribers (free holders) being appointed & sworn according to law of this Colony intitled an act for preventing Inconveniences which may happen by ye loss or uncertainty of ye bounds of land (Page 246) to erect set up and Revue ye bounds between ye land of Mr. Benj. WRIGHT of Killingworth & that tract of land belonging to James WRIGHT of Say Brook & ye rest of the heirs of his father James WRIGHT, Jun'r of said Say Brook Dec'd commonly called ye hundred & twenty acres in presence of s'd Oath and power thereby given we having this 30th day of September A.D. 1730 heard ye allegation and evidences of ye said Parties have erected and renewed the bounds between ye s'd parties as follows viz. We began at ye North west Corner at a Large Rock in ye bank of Mammketeset River neer the bridge & measuring thence Southerly by ye Country road six rods we fixed a meer stone at ye peace where we found by good evidence ye ancient boundary was, thence we measured South Easterly thirty two Rods to a meer stone which we found to be an ancient boundary & Renewed it by setting another stone by it in the ground thence varying more Easterly we measured Eighteen Rods to an old Chestnut Tree stooping to ye Northward & marked which we found by Records & good Evidence to be an ancient boundary which we new marked thence we measured Southerly one hundred & twenty four rods to a Walnut Tree anciently marked on ye North side & East side & stones about it which we find to be an ancient boundry & new marked & laid more stones about it & was assented to as a boundary by both parties thence we measured Easterly Sixty Eight Rods & fixed a meer stone neer ye edge of the meadow from thence we measured still Easterly Continuing ye same line about ninety two Rods to a stake standing by ye mouth of a small creek where it runs Into the said Mammcateset River which we found an ancient boundary which we renewed by Diging a Small Ditch by s'd stake all which boundaries we find to be agreeable to ye ancient Records & Right & here by establish the same as the boundaries between the said Parties as Witness our hands ye Day and date above written
