Deed from James WRIGHT, Senior to his son, Benjamin and wife, Elizabeth WRIGHT
To all Christian People to whom these Presents shall come I, James WRIGHT of ye Town of Killingworth in ye County of New London & Colony of Connecticut in New England yeoman sendeth Greeting: Know ye that I ye said James WRIGHT Sen'r for & in consideration of a Release or Quit Claim granted by Benj'n WRIGHT & Elizabeth his wife to a certain tract of land in Guilford as by said Release will more fully appear have Released quitted my claim unto & made over my Right unto a Certain tract of land within the bounds of Oyster River in the Town of Saybrook in the County & Colony aforesaid, Butted & Bounded as follows, Westerly on the Dividing line Between Killingworth and Saybrook above the Old Wading Place. The Southwest a White Oak Tree marked S on the East side & K on ye West side which Tree is a Boundary between the Townships aforesaid, from thence it extends Northerly one hundred eighty eight Rods to a White Oak Tree marked with J.W. & stones about it being the North west corner from thence it extends East fourty nine Rods to a stake by a ledge of Rocks with stones about it & from thence Southerly it extends one hundred eighty eight Rods to a White Oak stump marked with J.W. and stones about it from thence it extends fourty nine Rods to ye first mentioned Corner & Do by these Presents Release Quit-Claim unto and make over all my Right in said Land except five acres within said Bounds unto my son Benjamin WRIGHT & Elizabeth his wife booth of Killingworth in the County and Colony aforesaid the said land being fourty acres more or less to them their heirs and assigns forever.
To Have & to Hold the above Bargained Premises together with all the priviledges and appurtainances thereunto Belonging or any way appertaining unto them the said Benj'n WRIGHT & Elizabeth his wife their heirs & assigns forever to their own Proper use Benefitt & Behoof for ever & more over I ye s'd Benjamin WRIGHT & his wife ye above bargained Premises from ye lawfull claims of any person or persons by or under me forever to Warrant Secure & Defend.
In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this 25th day of Sept. Anno Domini 1725 in ye 11th year of our Sovereign Lord George King &c
