Deed from James WRIGHT to Benjamin SHIPMAN

To all Christian People to whom These Presents shall come Greeting:-Know ye that I James WRIGHT of Say-Brook in the County of New London and Colony of Connecticut in New England for and in consideration of Twenty eight pounds Currant money to me in hand paid before the ensealing hereof by Benj. SHIPMAN of the aforesaid Say-Brook the receipt whereof I hereby acknowledge have given granted bargained sold aliened conveyed and confirmed unto him ye said SHIPMAN his heirs and assigns forever two certain tracts of land scituate lying in the township of Say-Brook aforesaid in Oyster River Quarter the first piece being at the east side of Teackle Hill Brook by the Highway or Country Road bounded West by the said Brook and South by said WRIGHT own meadow and East by Peter MURDOCKS and Northerly by ye Country Road. The other piece begining in said MURDOCK's line on the South side of said WRIGHT's meadow Bounded West in part by ye aforesaid Brook and in part by a Ditch running Southerly by said Ditch till it meets with said MURDOCK's line, bounded Easterly by MURDOCK and Northerely by my own land which two pieces containing about four acres more or less and to hold the said granted premises with all ye appurtenances privileges commodities there unto belonging and him the said Benj. SHIPMAN his heirs and assigns forever.

And I the said James WRIGHT do hereby Covenant promise and grant to and with ye said Benj. SHIPMAN his heirs and assigns that before the ensealing hereof I am the true sole and lawful owner of the above granted premises and have good right to bargain and sell the same in manner as abovesaid and hereby Bind and oblige my self my heirs executors to Warrant Secure and Defend ye said Granted Premises to him ye said Benj. SHIPMAN his heirs and assigns forever against the lawfull claims or demands of any person or persons whatsoever

In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 21st day of April A.D. 1739.
