Deed of Caution from Benjamin WRIGHT to the Town Clerk

To the Town Clerk of Say Brook &c.

Sir Whereas there is a piece of land lying on ye lower end of the Hill Called Horse Hill butting upon ye Country Road Containing Twenty acres within ye bounds of Say Brook afores'd which land was surveyed & laid out unto my Hon'd father James WRIGHT of said Say Brook now deceased which s'd piece of land by ye last Will & Testament of ye said James WRIGHT became mine & I understand that the now James WRIGHT of Say Brook has given a Deed of the aboves'd pice of land to Mr. Jared ELLIOTT of Killingworth when he had no Right in himself to Dispose of the same I therefore Caution you to Record no Deed of s'd land untill matters are under a better Regulation & be made more plainly to appear whose the land is & that such unlawfull actions & Doings may not be tolerated to ye Dishonour of his Majesties good laws & abuse of his subjects
