Deed from Benjamin WRIGHT to Samuel PLATTS
To all Christian People to whom these presents shall come, Greeting: Know ye that I Benjamin WRIGHT of Killingworth in the County of New London and Colony of Connecticut in New England for the consideration of fifteen pounds money by me received before ye ensealing hereof of Sam'll PLATTS of Say-Brook in the County and Colony aforesaid ye Receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge to my full content and satisfaction have given, granted, bargained, sold aliened, conveyed and confirmed and by these presents do fully and freely and absolutely give grant bargain sell aliene convey and confirm unto him the said Sam'll PLATTS his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land lying in the Township of Say-Brook on a hill known by the name of Chestnut Hill within Oyster River Quarter so called begining at a heap of stones running thence southerly 35 rods to a heap of stones, thence Northerly Twenty four rods and two foots to a heap of stones, thence Westerly 33 rods to a heap of stones, thence Southerly 7 rods and two foots to ye first mentioned heap of stones containing thee acres more or less as said land is bounded South and West on said Sam'll PLATTS own land, and East and North by my own land.
To have and to hold the above granted and bargained premises with all the appurtenances and priviledges to ye same belonging or in anywise appertaining to him the said Sam'll PLATTS his heirs and assigns forever to his and their own proper use and behoofe forever.
And I the said Benj. WRIGHT for myself my heirs executors and administrators do Covenant promise and grant to and with the said Sam'll PLATTS his heirs and assigns that at and until ye ensealing of these presents I am the true sole and lawful owner of ye above granted and bargained premises and have in myself good right full power and lawfull authority to bargain and sell the same in manner and form as is above written and that the said Sam'll PLATTS his heirs and assigns shall and may from time to time and at all times forever hereafter by force and vertue of these presents lawfully peacebly and quietly have hold use occupie posses and enjoy the above granted premises with ye appurtenances free and clear and freely and clearly exonerated and discharged of and from all and all manner of former or other gifts grants bargains sales or incumbrances in the law whatsoever.
More over I the said Benj. WRIGHT for myself my heirs executors and administrators do promise and engage the above granted and bargained premises to him the said Sam'll PLATTS his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims and demands of any person or persons whatsoever forever hereafter to Warrant Secure and Defend.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 21st day of June 1739.
