Deed from James WRIGHT to Peter MURDOCK
To all Christian People to whom these Presents shall come I James WRIGHT of SayBrook in ye County of New London & Colony of Connecticut in New England yeoman send Greeting Know ye that I ye s'd James WRIGHT for and in Consideration of the full & Just Sum of Eighty pounds of Currant money of the Colony aforesaid to me in hand Secured by a sufficient Instrument in Wrighting under the hand & seal of Peter MURDOCK of East Hampton on Long Island in the Province of New York bareing dte with these presents ye Receipt whereof & of every Part thereof Do acquit and discharge ye said Peter MURDOCK his heirs executors administrators forever by these presents have given granted bargained sold aliened, conveyed & Confirmed & by these presents Do give grant bargain sell aliene convey & Confirm unto him ye said Peter MURDOCK of East Hampton on Long Island in ye County of Suffolk in the Province of New York Trader his heirs & assigns forever a certain parcell or tract of land scituate lying & being in Oyster River Quarter in ye Township of Say Brook containing by estimation Seventy nine acres & a half as it lying ye Hill called Treacle Hill bounded Westerly on the land called William STANNARD's Southerly night ye Meadow & creek Easterly by the Land of Joseph WATEROUS & Northerly by ye Country Road allowing a highway in s'd Land according to custom To Have and to Hold ye above bargained & granted Premises with ye appurtainances privileges & Commodities thereunto belonging to him ye s'd Peter MURDOCK his heirs & assigns forever to his & their only proper use benefit & behoof forever & I the s'd James WRIGHT for myself my heirs executors & administrators Do dovenant grant and promise to & With ye s'd Peter MURDOCK his heirs & assigns that before ye ensealing hereof I am the true sole & lawfull owner of the above bargained & granted Premises & have in myself good right full power & lawfull authority to bargain & sell ye same in manner as aboves'd & that ye s'd Peter MURDOCK his heirs & assigns shall & may from time to time & at all times forever here after by force & vertue of these Presents Lawfully Peaceably and Quietly have hold use occupie Possess & Injoy the above bargained Premises with ye appurtainances free & clear & freely and clearly acquitted exonerated & Discharged of & from all & all manner of other & former Gifts grants mortgages wills Joynters Dowries Intails or Incumbrances in the law whatsoever I ye s'd James WRIGHT for me my heirs executors & administrators Do covenant and Ingage the above granted & bargained Premises to him the said Peter MURDOCK his heirs and assigns against the lawfull claims or demands of any Person or persons whomsoever forever here after to Warrant Secure and Defend,
In Witness whereof I the said James WRIGHT have hereunto set my hand & seal this twelvth day of November Anno Domini 1720 & in the Seventh year of ye Reign of our Sovereign Lord George King of Great Brittain &c.
