Deed from James WRIGHT to Benjamin MERRELL (MERREL)

Know all men by these presents that I James WRIGHT of Say-Brook in the County of New London & Colony of Connecticut in New England for and in consideration of Ten Pounds in money which I have already in hand received of Benjamin MERRELL of Killingworth in the County aforesaid, have given granted bargained sold conveyed and confirmed unto him the said Benjamin MERREL his heirs and assigns forever Eight acres of Salt meadow lying on the West side of Menuncatest River in Say-brook and is bounded Westwardly and Southwardly on said MERRELL's own land, Easterly on Ephraim KELSEY's Meadow land Northerly on Menuncatest river and Norwesterly on said MERRELL's meadow containing eight acres be the same more or less.

To have and to hold ye said above described meadow with the priviledges and appurtenances thereof to the only proper use and behoof of him the said Benjamin MERRELL his heirs and assigns forever and I the said James WRIGHT for myself my heirs executors and administrators doe here-By covenant and grant to and with the said Benjamin MERRELL his heirs and assigns that I am the sole owner of the premises and have good right and lawfull authority to conver the same as above said and that henceforth and forever hereafter it shall be lawfull for the said Benjamin MERRELL his heirs and assigns by force and virtue of these presents to enter upon have hold use possess and injoy the above granted premises without any incumbrance in the law whatsoever.

And furthermore I the said James WRIGHT for myself my heirs executors and administrators do by these presents covenant and engage the above demised premises unto him the said Benjamin MERRELL his heirs and and assigns against all the claims and demands of all persons Whomsoever forever hereafter to Warrant and Secure and defend,

In Witnes whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 27th day of August A.D. 1742.
