Deed from James WRIGHT to Jared ELLIOT

To all Christian people to whom these presents shall come Greeting Know ye that I James WRIGHT of Say-Brook in ye County of New London & Colony of Connecticut in New England for & in Consideration of ye sum of Twenty Pounds Currant money of ye Colony aforesaid to me in hand paid before ye Ensealing & Delivery of these presents by ye Rev. Jr. Jared ELLIOT of Killingworth in ye County aforesaid Clerk, the Receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge & myself sully satisfied contented & Paid have given granted bargained sold alienated conveyed & Confirmed & by these presents Do freely fully & absolutely give grant bargain Sell aliene convey & confirm unto him ye said Jared ELLIOT his heirs & assigns forever, a certain tract or parcel of land situate in ye Township of Say Brook aforesaid in Oyster River Quarter lying at ye lower end of Horse Hill it being in length Seventy six rods in bredth Twenty five Rods the Southeasterly corner is a White Oake Tree marked with stones cast about it the North Eastwardly corner is a black oake staddle standing marked stones cast about it ye other two corners are heaps of stones, containing Eleven acres & is bounded Southerly by ye Country Road Eastwardly by the Common Northerly by ye s'd ELLIOT's own land & westwardly by ye said WRIGHT's own land. To Have & To Hold ye said granted Bargained Premises with all ye appurtainances priviledges & Commodities to ye same belonging or in any wise appertaining to him ye said Jared ELLIOT his heirs & assigns forever to his & their ownly proper use benefit & behoof forever & I the s'd James WRIGHT for myself my heirs Executors and administrators Do Covenant promise & grant to & with ye said Jared ELLIOT his heirs & assigns that before ye Ensealing hereof I am ye true sole & lawfull owner of the above Demised Premises & have in myself good Right full Power & lawfull authority to Bargain & sell ye same in manner as above said & that ye said Jared ELLIOT his heirs & assigns shall & may form time to time & at all times forever hereafter by force & vertue of these presents lawfully peaceably and quietly have hold use Occupie possess & Injoy ye said granted premises free & clear freely & clearly acquitted exonerated & discharged of & from all & all manner of former or other gifts grants Bargains sales or Incumbrances in ye law whatsoever I ye said James WRIGHT for myself my heirs Executors Administrators Do Covenant & Engage ye above granted premises unto him ye said Jared ELLIOT his heirs & assigns against ye lawfull claims or Demands of any person or persons whomsoever forever hereafter to Warrant Secure and Defend.

In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this 15 day of November A.D. 1731 and in the fifth year of his Majesties Reign George ye second King of Great Brittain &c
