Deed from James WRIGHT to Josiah DIBBLE
To all Christian People to whom these Presents shall come Greeting: Know ye That I James WRIGHT of Saybrook, in the County of New London and Colony of Connecticut, in New England for a valuable consideration to me in hand paid before the ensealing hereof by Josiah DIBBLE in the aforesaid Saybrook have given granted bargained sold conveyed & confirmed and by these presents do freely fully & absolutely give grant bargain aliene convey & confirm unto him the said Josiah DIBBLE his heirs and assigns forever a fifty pound Right in the common lands in the said Township of Saybrook, in Oyster River Quarter.
To have and to Hold the said granted and bargained premises with all the appurtenances privileges and commodities to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining to him the said Josiah DIBBLE his heirs and assigns forever and I the said James WRIGHT for myself my heirs executors & Administrators Do Covenant promise and grant to & with the sd Josiah DIBBLE his heirs and assigns that before the ensealing hereof I am the true sole & lawfull owner of the above bargained Premises and have in myself good right full power & Lawfull authority to bargain & sell the same in manner as abovesaid and that ye sd Josiah DIBBLE his heirs and assigns shall and may from time to time & at all times forever hereafter by force and virtue of these presents lawfully peaceably & quietly have hold occupie posses and enjoy the sd demised premises free and clear of all & all manner of incumbrances whatsoever moreover I the said James WRIGHT for myself my heirs executors & administrators do promise and engage the above granted premises unto him ye sd Josiah DIBBLE his heirs and assigns against the lawfull claims or demand of any person or persons hereafter t Warrant Secure and Defend.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 15th day of July 1746.
