Deed from James WRIGHT, Junior to John BAYLEY

To all Christian People to whom these Presents shall come James WRIGHT Jun'r of Say Brook alias Killingworth in ye County of New London & Colony of Connecticut in New England sends Greeting Know ye that I James WRIGHT for divers good causes & considerations him there unto moving & more especially for & in Consideration of ye sum of Sixteen pounds ten shillings Currant money of this Colony Part whereof to him in hand paid Down ye rest well & truly secured by a sufficient Instrument in Wrighting under he hand & seal of John BAILEY of s'd Killingworth Sadler bareing date with these presents before ye ensealing hereof ye Rec't whereof he ye said James WRIGHT Do hereby acknowledge & himself fully satisfied & contented have given, granted bargained & sold alienated conveyed made over & confirmed & by these presents Do freely fully absolutely give grant bargain sell alien convey make over & Confirm unto him ye s'd John BAYLEY his heirs executors administrators & assigns A Certain Division of land containing fourty acres, scituated lying and being with in Oyster River Quarter in ye township of Say-Brook aforesaid arising on one hundred pound right agreed on by ye proprietors of Oyster River Quarter aforesaid to be laid out to James JORDAN of Saybrook aforesaid & is ye twenty second Draft & now by vertue of these Presents is to be laid out to ye s'd John BAILEY his heirs executors administrators or assigns where he or they shall see cause to have it in or amongst ye undivided land within s'd Quarter according to ye agreement or Draft as may be seen on Record together with all ye Revertions & Remainder thereof & all ye Estate right & Inheritance property Possession Claim & Demand whatsoever of him ye said James WRIGHT of in and to ye same & Every Part thereof. To Have & To Hold all ye above granted premises with all & singular the appurtainances thereof unto the said John BAYLEY his heirs executors administrators & assigns to his & their own sole & proper use benefit & behoof from henceforth & forever & ye s'd James WRIGHT for himselfe his heirs executors administrators & assigns Doth hereby covenant promises grant & agree to and with ye said John BAILEY his heirs & assigns in manner & form following (viz) ye at ye time of ye ensealing & Delivery of these presents he ye s'd James WRIGHT is ye true sole and lawfull owner of all ye afores'd Bargained premises & stands lawfully seized there of his own right as a good perfect & Indefeasible Estate of Inheritance in fee simple having in himself full power & lawfull authority to Dispose of ye same in manner as aboves'd & that ye said John BAYLEY his heirs & assigns shall & may henceforth & forever Lawfully peaceably and quietly have hold use occupie & Injoy & possess ye above granted premises with ye appurtainances thereof free & clear & clearly acquitted & Discharged of & from all manner of former & other gifts, grants bargains sales Leases Mortgages Joynters Dowries Judements executions entails forfeitures & of & from all other titles troubles & Incumbrances whatsoever had made committed done or suffered to be Done by ye s'd James WRIGHT his heirs or assigns at any time or times Before ye ensealing & delivery hereof & further the said James WRIGHT for himself his heirs executors & administrators Do Promise & Ingage ye above bargained premises to him he said John BAYLEY his heirs & assigns against all lawfull claims & Demands of any person or persons whatsoever to Warrant Secure & defend & at any time or times hereafter on demand to give & pass over such further & more ample assurance & confirmation of ye premises unto ye s'd John BAYLEY his heirs or assigns forever as in law or Equity can be reasonably devised advised or Required, In Witness whereof I ye said James WRIGHT hath hereunto set his hand and seal this twenty eighth day of December Anno Domini Seventeen hundred & seventeen & in ye fourth year of his Majesties Reign.
