Deed from James WRIGHT Sen'r to John BAILEY

To all People to whom these presents shall come Greeting Know ye that I, James WRIGHT Sen'r of Say Brook in ye County of New London & Colony of Connecticut in New England for & in consideration of ye sum of nine pounds of currant money of this Colony aforesaid to me in hand before ye ensealing hereof well & truly payed by John BAILEY of Killingworth in ye County & Colony aforesaid ye Receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge & myself there with fully satisfied & contented and thereof & of every part & parcel thereof Do Exonerate acquit & Discharge the said John BAILEY his heirs executors & administrators forever by these Presents, Have given granted bargained sold aliened conveyed and confirmed & by these presents Do freely fully and absolutely give grant bargain sell aliene convey & confirm unto him ye said John BAILEY his heirs & assigns forever one messuage or tract of land scituate lying & being in SayBrook in ye County & Colony aforesaid containing nine acres and Eight rods Bounded South westerly by a black Oake tree with stones cast about it thence sixty seven rods Easterly to a Wallnut tree with stones cast about it thence Northerly twenty two rods & four foot to a white oake tree with stones cast about it, thence sixty five rods westerly to a stake with stones cast about it, thence Southerly twenty two rods & four foot to ye first Boundary. Butting westerly neer the Dividing line of ye of yeaforsaid Townse, Northerly by my land, Easterly by Common Land Southerly by land of ye afores'd John BAILEY. To Have & To Hold ye said granted & bargained premises with all ye appurtainances priviledges & commodities to ye same belonging or in any wise appertaining to him ye said John BAILEY his heirs & assigns forever to his & their only proper use benefit & behoof forever & I ye said James WRIGHT for me my heirs executors & administrators Do Covenant Promise & grant to & with ye s'd John BAYLEY his heirs & assigns that before y ensealing hereof I am ye true sole and Lawfull claims or Demands of any person or persons whatsoever for ever hereafter to Warrant Secure & Defend & at any time or times here after on demand to give Passover such farther and ample assurance as in law or equity can be reasonably devised advised or required.

In Witness whereof I set to my hand and seal this fourteenth day of April Anno Dom Seventten hundred & nineteen & in ye fifth year of his Majesties Reign
