To all People to whom these presents shall come Greeting; know ye that I James WRIGHT of Say-Brook in the County of new london and Colony of Connecticut in New England for the consideration of twenty one pounds in currant money which I have to my satisfaction received of Joseph CARTER of Killingworth in ye County aforesaid do give grant bargain sell and confirm unto the said Joseph CARTER his heirs and assigns forever two pieces of land in Oyster River Quarter in Say-Brook aforesaid one piece lyes on ye West side of Horse Hill and contains Ten Acres and an half and Bunds East onland laid out formerly to Lt. CHALKER seventy four rods, North on Mr. CARTER's land twenty six rods, West partly on Sam'll PLATTS land and partly on Common land Sixty four rod and south on common land twenty four rods ye Southeast corner is a white oak tree, the Southwest corner is a Wallnut tree, the Northwest is a Black oak tree on of CARTER's Corners the North east corner is a Wallnut tree another of CARTER's Corners all which trees are marked and stones about them, the other piece lyes on ye Great Ledge and is forty rods square, and contains ten acres and is bounded North partly on Said CARTER;s land and partly on Sam'll PLATT's land East West and South on Common land, the corners are all Black Oak trees ye North East Corner is a corner of Sam'll PLATT's land the North west corner of CARTER's land the southeast Corner is a Corner of William KELSEY's land all marked and stones about them.
To Have and to Hold the above granted and bargained Premises with the appurtenances unto him the said Joseph CARTER his heirs and assigns forever to his and their own proper use and Behoof and also I the said James WRIGHT do for myself my heirs executors and administrators Covenant with the said Joseph CARTER his heirs and assigns that at and until the ensealing of these presents I am lawfully seized of the same as a good Indefeasible in fee simple and have good right to bargain and sell the same in manner and form as is above written and that the same is free from all of all Incumbrances whatsoever.
And Furthermore I the said James WRIGHT do by these Presents Bind myself my heirs forever To Warrant and Defend the above Granted Premises to him the said Joseph CARTER his Heirs and assigns against all claims and demands whatsoever.
In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal ye 26th day of June in the Ninth year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the second of Great Brittain &c. Anno Domini 1735.
