To all Christian People tow home these presents shall Come I Joseph WILLCOCKS Jun'r of Killingworth in ye County of Newlondon & Coloney of Conecticut In New England send Greeting Know ye that I the s'd Joseph WILLCOCKS for & in Consideration of the sum of ten pounds as Currant money of New England to me in hand paid before the Ensealeing and delivery of these presents by Robart CARTER of the town County & Coloney afore s'd, Carpender the Receipt where of I Do hereby acknowledge, Have there fore Given, Granted, Bargained, Sold, Allienated, Conveyed and Confirmed and by these presents Do fully freely Clearly and Absolutly Give, Grant, Bargain, sell, Allien, Convey and Confirm unto him the s'd Robart CARTER his heirs and assigns forever a Certain tract or parcell of Land scituate lying and being in the Additional Grant to the township of Killingworth afore s'd lying near Durham line beginning at the south East Corner at a Beach tree marked Runing thence northwest forty Rods to a white oak tree marked thence southwest seventy four Rods to a white oak tree marked, thence south East forty Rods to an ash thence north East seventy four Rods to the first mentioned Corner Containing sixteen acres, Bounded south East by Land Laid out to Benjamin GRISWOLD, north by Land Laid out to Mr. ELIOT Every way Elce by Common Land or how Ever other wise now Bounded or reputed to be Bounded To Have and To Hold the above Bargained and Granted Land with all the appurtenances privilidges and Comodities to the same belonging or any waies appertaining to him the s'd Robart CARTER his heirs and assigns forever to his and their only propper use benifit and behoof forever and I the s'd Joseph WILLCOCKS for my self my heirs Executors and Administrators Do Covenant Grant and promise to and with the s'd Robart CARTER his heirs and assigns that before the Ensealeing and delivery of these presents I am the true sole and Lawfull owner of the above Bargained and Granted premises and have in self Good Right full power and Lawfull authority to Bargain and sell the same in manner of above s'd and that the s'd Robart CARTER his heirs and assigns shall and may from time to time and at all times forever here after by force and virtue of these presents Lawfully peaceably and quietly Have Hold use occupie possess and Injoy the above Bargained and Granted premises with the appurtenances free and Clear freely and Clearly acquitted Exonerated and discharged of and from all and all manner of other & former Gifts, Grants, Bargains, Sales, Wills, Joyntures, Dowryes, Entailes or Incumbrances the Law whatsoever, moreover I the s'd Joseph WILLCOCKS for my self my heirs Executors and Administrators Do Covenant and Ingage the above Bargained and Granted premises to him the s'd Robart CARTER his heirs and assigns against the Lawfull Claimes or Demands of any person or persons whome so Ever forever here after to warrant secure and defend In witness where of I the s'd Joseph WILLCOCKS have here unto set my hand and seal this twelvth Day of August Anno=Dominie seventeen hundred and twenty four and in the Eleventh year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George King of Great Britain &c
