Entered May ye 7th 1736

To all Christian people to whome these presents shall Come Greeting Know ye that I Gideon WELLMAN of Killingworth in the County of Newlondon and Coloney of Conecticut in new England for and in Consideration of the sum of three poiunds one shilling money to me in hand well and truly paid before the Ensealeing here of by Benjamin CARTER of the afore s'd Killingworth the Receipt hereof I Do hereby acknowledge & myself therewith fully satisfied Have Given Granted Bargained sold alliened Conveyed and Confirmed and by these presents Do freely fully and absolutly give grant Bargain sell allien Convey and Confirm unto him the s'd Benjamin CARTER his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of Land it being a part of my tenth Division lying near s'd Benjamin CARTER's Dwelling house and was Laid one acre one quarter and Ninteen Rods of my Right of Land in the tenth Division & 25 Rods to s'd CARTER of his Right in s'd division all in one Intire peice Bounded as followeth (viz) begining at a heap of stones Runing thence Easterly 11 Rods to a heap of stones thence northerly 17 Rods to a heap of stones thence westerly 20 Rods to a white oak bush marked stones Cast about it thence southerly 17 Rods to the first Corner Containing one acre & half & four Rods Bounded Eastelry by a highway westerly by s'd CARTER's Land southerly & northerly by Common To Have and To Hold the s'd Granted and within the above Described bounds (my s'd part being one acre & thirty nine Rods of above s'd) to him the s'd Benjamin CARTER his heirs and assigns forever to his and their only propper use benifit and behoof forever & I the said Gideon WELLMAN for my self my heirs Executors & administrators Do Covenant & promis to and with the s'd Benjamin CARTER his heirs and assigns that before the Ensealeing hereof I am the true sole & Lawfull owner of the above granted & have good Right to grant the same as above s'd and that ye s'd Benjamin CARTER his heirs and assigns shall & may from time to time and at all times forever here after by force and virtue of these presents Lawfully peaceably and quietly Have Hold use occupie possess & Injoy the above granted premises with the appurtenances free and Clear freely and Clearly acquitted Exonerated and discharged of and from all and all manner of former or other Gifts Grants Bargains Sales or other Incumbrances in the Law whatsoever moreover I the s'd Gideon WELLMAN for my self my heirs Executors and administrators Do promise and Ingage the above Granted premises to him the s'd Benjamin CARTER his heirs and assigns against the Lawfull Claimes or Demands of any person or persons whomsoever for Ever here after to warrant secure & Defend in witness whereof I the said Gedion WELLMAN have hereunto set my hand and seal this seventh Day of May AD 1736 and in the ninth year of the Regin of our sovereign Lord George the Second King of Great Brittain &c
