To all People to whom these Presents shall come:--GREETING.
KNOW YE, That I Asa WATEROUS of Killingworth County of Middlesex & State of Connecticut for the consideration of Eight Dollars --
Received to my full satisfaction of Silas CARTER of the Town County & State aforesaid-Do give, grant, bargain, sell, and confirm unto the said Silas a certain tract of land lying in s'd Town adjoining the fourth end of a lot belonging to Benjamin CARTER called the old lot-the piece of land has three sides - the East side bounded on highway north on Benjamin CARTER's land - & south on my own land - containing half an acre more or less.-
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the above granted and bargained premises, with the appurtenances thereof, unto him the said Silas his heirs and assigns forever, to his and their own proper use and behoof. And also, I the said Asa do for myself and my heirs, executors and administrators, covenant with the said Silas his heirs and assigns that at and until the ensealing these presents I am well seized of the remises as a good indefeasible estate in fee simple, and have good right to bargain and sell the same in manner and form as is above written, and that the same if free of all incumbrances whatsoever.
AND FURTHERMORE, I the said Asa do by these presents, bind myself and my heirs forever to warrant and defend the above granted and bargained premises, to him the said Silas his heirs and assigns, against all claims and demands whatsoever.
IN WITNESS whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 1st day of June Anno Domini 1809.--
