Deed from Samuel WARD to William & George CARTER

To all People to whom these Presents shall come:--GREETING.

KNOW Ye, That I Samuel WARD of Guilford in the County of New Haven & State of Connecticut

for the consideration of the sum of one hundred Dollars--.

Received to my full satisfaction of W'm & George CARTER of Killingworth in the County of Middlesex & State afores'd--

Do give, grant, bargain, sell, and confirm unto the said W'm & George CARTER their heirs & assigns forever -- A certain tract or parcel of land lying in s'd Killingworth a little to the southwest of John BUSH's Dwelling house the other side of the highway-It being the whole of that tract of land which I Purchased of by brother Joy WARD-Bounded as follows (viz) Easterly 26 rods on highway-then southerly 66 rods on land formerly owned by Gen'l Joseph WILLCOX & Daniel WILLCOX & now owned by Selah WILLIS-with an angular line bending in upon s'd WILLCOX to a heap of stones-thence westerly 21 rods on land belonging to Levi KELSEY-then northerly 78 rods on land belonging to Joy WARD-Each corner being bounded by a heap of stones- Containing Eleven acres of land be the same more or less--

TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the above granted and bargained premises, with the appurtenances thereof, unto them the said W'm & George CARTER their heirs and assigns forever, to their and their own proper use and behoof. And also, I the said Samuel WARD do for my self and my heirs, executors and administrators, covenant with the said W'm & George CARTER their heirs and assigns; that all and until the ensealing these presents I am well seized of the premises as a good indefeasible estate in fee simple, and have good to bargain and sell the same in manner and form as is above written, and that the same is free of all incumbrances whatsoever.

AND FURTHERMORE, I the said Samuel WARD

Do by these presents, bind y self and my heirs forever to warrant and defend the above granted and bargained premises, to them the said W'm & George CARTER their heirs and assigns, against all claims and demands whatsoever.

IN WITNESS whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 16 day of July Anno Domini 1806
