To all People to whom these Presents shall come,--GREETING.

KNOW YE, That We William CARTER Jacob STANNARD Adin PARMELE & Jedidiah HARRIS and the rest of the Inhabitants of the Town of Killingworth in the County of Middlesex & State of Connecticut for the consideration of ten Dollars received to our full satisfaction of Silas CARTER of the Town and County aforesaid Do give, grant, bargain, sell and confirm unto the said Silas CARTER his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract of land or highway together with a tract of common land adjoining said highway in the first society a little northerly of the old bridge so called and adjoining what is called the NETTLETON farm, a bout one hundred rods in length and from two to ten rods in breadth, being bounded as follows southerly and northerly on highway westerly by land of Thatcher LANE and Silas CARTER partly by land of ?? and Asa WATERHOUSE containing by estimation two acres of land be the same more or less.

TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the above granted and bargained premises, with the appurtenances thereof unto him the said Silas CARTER his heirs and assigns forever, to his and their own proper use and behoof. And who, we the said Grantors do for ourselves and our successors, covenant with the said Grantee his heir heirs and assigns that at and until the ensealing these presents we are well seized of the premises as a good indefeasible estate in fee simple, and have good right to bargain and sell the same in manner and form as is above written, and that the same is free of all incumbrances whatsoever.

AND FURTHERMORE, we the said Grantors do by these presents bind ourselves and our successors forever, to warrant and defend the above granted and bargained premises, to him the said Grantee his heirs and assigns, against all claims and demands whatsoever.

IN WITNESS whereof we the agents & Committee of said town lawfully authorize & impowered for this propose hath hereunto set our hands and seals this 5th day of January AD
