[Transcriber's note: Here is the land laid out to Sarah CARTER (wife of John CARTER). Interesting that it should be laid out directly to her with no notation of why. Her husband was still alive and this is the first time I have seen this during this time where it was not listed that it was either an estate or dower. - jcs]

we whose names are under written being apointed by the proprietors of Comon Land in Killingworth have this 22'd Day of February AD 1736 Laid out to Sarah CARTER ye wife of John CARTER the Land here after mentioned it being ye 85 Lot in the Eleventh Division in the township of Killingworth and lying at the loer End of bever dam hill begining at the north east Corner of a whitewood tree marked with stones about it that is a Corner of her own Land Runing thence southerly 7 Rods to a Redoak tree marked with stones about it that is a Corner of Josiah HULL's Land Runing westerly 3 Rods & a half to a burch tree marked with stones about it Runing thence northerly 8 Rods to a walnut tree marked with stones about it Runing thence Easterly 6 Rods to the first Corner Containing 22 Rods of Ground as it is Bounded northerly by her own Land Easterly by Josiah HULL's Land southerly by highway westerly by Common Land
