Deed from Thaddeus STEVENS to Benjamin WRIGHT, 2nd

To all People to whom these presents shall come Greeting Know ye that I Thaddeus STEVENS of Killingworth in the County of New London and Colony of Connecticut in New England for the consideration of the sum of five pounds and five shillings old tenor bills of credit to me in hand received to my full satisfaction of Benjamin WRIGHT the second of Saybrook in the County and Colony abovesaid Do give grant bargain sell convey and confirm unto him the said Benjamin WRIGHT his heirs and assigns forever a certain Right in the Common and undivided land in the Township of Saybrook in oyster river quarter containing one acre and a half of land in the Township of Saybrook and may be taken up and laid out any where in the common & undivided land in said quarter agreeable to the proprietors act not pedjucing any former grants nor highways.

To have and to hold the above granted and bargained premises with the appurtenances thereof unto him the said Benjamin WRIGHT his heirs & assigns forever to his and their own proper use benefit and behoof. And also I the said Thaddeus STEVENS do for myself my heirs executors and administrators Covenant with the said Benjamin WRIGHT his heirs and assigns That at and untill the ensealing of these presents I am well seized of the premises as a good Indefeasible estate in fee simple and have good right to bargain and sell the same in manner and form as is above written And that the same is free of all incumbrances whatsoever. And Furthermore I the said Thadeus STEVENS do by these presents bind myself and my heirs forever to Warrant Secure and Defend that above granted and bargained premises to him the said Benjamin WRIGHT his heirs and assigns against all claims & demands whatsoever-

In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal the 22nd day of July A.D. 1748. in the 22d. year of his Majesties Reign George ye Second King of Great Brittain &c.
