To all Christian People to whom these Presents shall Come I Josiah STEVENS of Killingworth in the County of New London and Colonie of Conecticut in New England sendeth Greeting Know Ye that I the s'd Josiah STEEVENS for and in Consideration of a certain parcel of upland and meadow made over to me by a deed baring date with these presents have by way of exchange given granted sold Alienated sold and Confirmed unto Peter WARD, his heirs and assigns forever one measuagr or tract of upland lying and being on the Cow hill in the Township of Killingworth above s'd (viz) Seventeen acres and a half more or less being in length Seventy rods in breadth forty rods as it is bounded Southerly by the land that was formerly Daniel KELCEY's and now Peter WARD's Northerly by the highway, Westerly by Land of George HULL, Westerly by the highway, together with the Dwelling house and fences thereon To have and to hold the above bargained premises with the appurtenances there to belonging or in any waies appertaining to him the s'd Peter WARD his heirs administrators, or assigns And I the s'd Josiah STEEVENS for me my heirs Executors Administrators doe Covenant to and with the s'd Peter WARD his heirs Administrators or assigns that to Warrant Secure and defend the above bargained premises Against the Lawful Claimes or demands of any persons whomsoever and the s'd Peter WARD his heirs and assigns may from time to time and at all times forever hereafter by force and virtue of these presents Lawfully peaceably and quietly Injoy the above bargained premises forever hereafter to Warrant Secure and defend in Witness whereof I the s'd Josiah STEEVENS have set to my hand and Seale this Ninth day of March in the Year of our Lord Seventeen hundred and twelve or thirteen and in the twelvth year of the Reign of our ?? Lady Ann Queen of England &c
