Deed from Samuel STANNARD to Thomas SPENCER Jun'r
Know all men by these presents That I Sam'll STANNARD of Say-Brook in ye County of New London and Colony of Connecticut in New England for the consideration of the sum of fifteen pounds in Currant money of this Colony of the old tenor to me in hand paid by Thos. SPENCER Jun'r of ye same SayBrook to my full satisfaction have given grant & do by these presents grant bargain sell convey & confirm unto him the said Thos SPENCER his heirs & assigns forever six acres of land in said Say-Brook in Oyster River Quarter in the Common & undivided land in said Quarter to be layed out according to the rules of laying out land in said Quarter in the last Division agreed upon by ye said proprietors of said Quarter & is a part of ten acres I bought of Deacon Joshua BUSHNELL to be laid out at the proper cost of said SPENCER.
To have and to hold all and singular the above granted and bargained premises to him ye said Thos. SPENCER his heirs & assigns forever as a good estate of Inheritance in fee simple & I ye said Sam'll STANNARD Do vouch my self to be the sole owner of the premises & have in myself good right and lawfull authority to convey the same as is above written and that the same is free of all incumbrances whatsoever and furthermore I the said Sam'll STANNARD Do for myself my heirs executors & administrators Covenant ingage to Warrant & Defend the above granted premises with the appurtenance to him the said Thos SPENCER and his heirs &c., forever against all the claims & demands of any person or persons whatsoever
In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this 6th day of Jan'y Anoque Domini 1744/5 & in ye 18th year of his Majesties Reign
