Deed from Josiah STANNARD to John CARTER

To all People to whom these presents shall come Greeting; Know ye that I Josiah STANNARD of Say-Brook in the County of New London and Colony of Connecticut in New England for the consideration of Seven Pounds money to me in hand paid by John CARTER of Killingworth in the County aforesaid Have granted and Conveyed and by these presents Do give grant Bargain sell and confirm unto to the said John CARTER his heirs assigns forever these two pieces of land lying and being in the Township of Say. Brook aforesaid viz; one piece lying on ye West side of a piece of land of said CARTER's and Bounded East thereon and extends in Weadth West there from ten rods at each end and bounds on the Town line or Common land the South East and Northeast Corners are said CARTER's South West and North west Corners the other two Corners are Heaps of stones.

The other Piece a triangular piece and bounded Southerly and Westerly on said CARTER's land, Northerly on Common land or land of Mr. ELIOT's ye Easterly Corner is two Chestnut Trees being a corner of Mr. ELIOT's land and a Corner of said CARTER's land the South West and Northeast Corners are Wallnut Trees being also Corners of said CARTER's Land these two pieces contain seven acres and one half be it more or less.

To Have and to Hold ye above granted and bargained Premises with the appurtenances unto him the said John CARTER his heirs and assigns forever to his and their own proper use and Behoof.

And also I the said John CARTER his heirs and assigns that at and until the ensealing of these presents I am seized of the premises as a good Indefeasible estate in fee Simple and have good right to bargain and sell ye same in manner and form as is above Written and that the same is free of all Incumbrances Whatsoever,

And Furthermore I the said Josiah STANNARD Do by these Presents Bind myself my heirs forever to Warrant and Defend the above Granted and Bargained Premisses to him the said John CARTER his heirs and assigns against all Claims and demands whatsoever.

In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal ye 13th day of August in ye year of ye Reign of our Sovereign lord George the Second the Eleventh of Great Brittain king, Anno Domini 1737
