Deed from William SPENCER to Samuel WILLARD
To all People to whome these Presents shall come Greeting Know ye that I William SPENCER of Colchester in ye County of Hartford in the Colony of Connecticut in New England son of William SPENCER formerly of Say Brook late of Haddam in ye County of Hartford afores'd Dec'd for the consideration of Nineteen shillings in good lawfull and Currant money Received to my full satisfaction of Sam'll WILLARD of Say Brook in ye County of New London & Colony aforesaid have given, granted & conveyed & by these presents Do give grant bargain sell and confirm unto the said Samuel WILLARD his heirs & assigns forever all that Right Interest & Estate in that tract of land in Saybrook aforesaid called the undivided Land at Pataconke which is bounded North on Haddam Township West on Killingworth South on Potopauge & Oyster River Quarter East Partly on lands laid out & Partly on Connecticut River: which did belong to my Hon'd father aforesaid or accrued to his Estate or heirs by a grant of the Town of Say-Brook being an Interest Right or Estate of twenty four pounds lying now in Common and undivided with the Rest of ye proprietors of said tract of land.
To Have & To Hold the above granted & bargained Premises with the appurtenances ?? him the s'd Samuel WILLARD his heirs & assigns forever to his and their own Proper use & behoofe & also I the said William SPENCER Do for myself my executors & administrators Covenant with the said Samuel WILLARD his heirs & assigns that at & until the Ensealing of these present I am lawfully seized of the Premises as a good Indefeasible Estate In fee simple and have good right to Bargain and sell ye same in manner & form as is above written & that ye same is free of all Incumbrances whatsoever & furthermore I the said William SPENCER Do by these presents bind myself my heirs forever to Warrant & Defend the above granted & bargained Premises to him ye said Samuel WILLARD his heirs & assigns against all claims & Demands whatsoever.
In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal the ninth day of Feb'y in ye Sixth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the second of Great Brittain &c King Annoque Domini 1732/3
