Deed from Joseph SPENCER to Thomas SPENCER Junior
Know all men by these presents that I Joseph SPENCER of Saybrook in ye County of New London and Colony of Connecticut in New England for and in consideration of the sum of three pounds money received of Thomas SPENCER Jun'r of Saybrook in the County of New London & Colony of Connecticut in New England aforesaid with which I acknowledge myself satisfied contented and paid have given granted sold conveyed & confirmed & do by these presents absolutely convey and confirm unto him the said Thomas SPENCER his heirs and assigns one acre and eight rods of land lying in Oyster River Quarter Bounded six rods South on the abovesaid Thomas SPENCER's land and Twenty six rods East on the abovesaid Thomas SPENCER's land Eight rods Northerly on Sergt. Robert LAY's land Twenty two rods Westerly on the highway aforesaid all the corners are heaps of stones.
To Have and to Hold said bargained premises with all and singular ye priviledges to ye same belonging to the only proper use and behoof of the said Thomas SPENCER his heirs and assigns forever, And I the said Joseph SPENCER for myself my heirs executors & administrators Do promise him the said SPENCER his heirs and assigns that at and untill the ensealing hereof I am the lawfull owner hereof & have good right to convey ye same as abovesaid & that him the said SPENCER his heirs and assigns shall and may henceforth have hold use and enjoy the same & every part thereof without any disturbance or molestation or incumbrance of Title, and furthermore I the said Joseph SPENCER for myself my heirs executors administrators do hereby engage the above demised premises to his the said Thomas SPENCER his heirs executors administrators against all the lawfull claims or demands of any person or persons whatsoever to Warrant & Defend.
In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twelvth day of November Annoque Domini 1743.
