Deed from Thomas SPENCER to James JORDAN

Know all men by these present that I Thomas SPENCER of SayBrook in the County of New London and Colony of Connecticut in New England for and in consideration of the sum of Fourteen Pounds six shillings and three pence money to me in hand paid by James JORDAN of SayBrook have given, granted and by these presents do fully freely and absolutely give, grant bargain sell aliene convey and confirmed to him the said James JORDAN his heirs and assigns forever one certain tract of land lying in Oyster River Quarter in SayBrook aforesaid containing one acre and sixty nine rods bounded North and East on Common land or highway, South on said SPENCER and West on said JORDAN's land, beginning at a stubb with stones about it which is the Northeast corner of said SPENCER's home stead, thence running Southerly to a stake, thence Westerly to a stake, thence Northerly to a stake, thence Easterly to the aforesaid stubb, all which stakes have stones laid about them.

To have and to hold the above granted and bargained premises with all the privileges and appurtenances to the same belonging or appertaining to him the said JORDAN his heirs and assigns forever and to be his and their only use and behoof forever.

And I the said Thomas SPENCER by these presents for myself my heirs executors and administrators Do Covenant promise and grant to and with the said JORDAN his heirs and assigns that I am the true and lawfull owner of the above granted premises and before the ensealing and delivery hereof was an am lawfully seized and possesed of Ye same in my own right as a good perfect and absolute estate in fee simple and have full power and lawfull right to dispose of the premises in manner and form abovesaid and that the said Jordan his heirs and assigns shall and may by force and virtue of these presents have hold use poses and enjoy the above granted premises lawfully peaceably and quietly at all times forever hereafter free and clear from all manner of incumbrances whatsoever that my in any measure or degree obstruct or make void this present deed.

Furthermore I the said Thomas SPENCER for my self my heirs executors and administrators promise and ingage the above demised premises to him the said James JORDAN his heirs and assigns against the lawfull claims or demands of all persons whatsoever forever hereafter to Warrant Secure and Defend,

In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the 22d day of February 1734/5.
