Deed from Jabez SPENCER to Daniel EDWARDS

To all People to whom these presents shall come Greeting; Know ye that I Jabez SPENCER of Say-Brook in the County of New London and Colony of Connecticut in New England for the consideration of Seventy three pounds Currant money of New England which I have received of Daniel EDWARDS of the same Say-Brook aforesaid in ye colony aforesaid have granted and sold by these presents do give, grant bargain sell and confirm unto the said Daniel EDWARDS all that my tract of land in Oyster River Quarter in said Say.Brook containing about thirty six acres and three Quarters Bounded North on Samuel CHALKER's land, East upon Mr. MURDOCK's land, South partly on said MURDOCK and party on William KELSEY's land, West on Francis BUSHNELL's land; the Norwest Corner is a White Wood and the Northeast is a White Oak, the South east A white oak staddle, the Southwest a Dogwood all marked and stones about them being all the land that I Bought of Joseph STANNARD, George GRINNELL, Caleb CHAPMAN which was laid out to be in three rights in the aforesaid tracts.

To have and to hold the above granted and bargained premises with the appurtenances unto him the said Daniel EDWARDS his heirs and assigns forever to his and their own proper use & behoof.

And also I the said Jabez SPENCER for myself my heirs executors and administrators covenant with the said Daniel EDWARDS his heirs and assigns that at and until the ensealing of the presents I am lawfully seized of the premises as a good indefeasible estate in fees simple and have good right to bargain and sell the same in manner and form as is above written and that the same if free of all incumbrances whatsoever and furthermore I the said Jabez SPENCER do by these presents Bind myself my heirs forever to Warrant and defend the above granted and bargained premises to him the said Daniel EDWARDS his heirs and assigns against all claims and demands whatsoever. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 22nd day of November in ye fourteenth year of ye Reign of our Lord George the Second A.D. 1740.
