Deed from Thomas SPENCER and his son, Thomas SPENCER

Know all men by these presents that I Thomas SPENCER of Say-Brook in the County of New London and Colony of Connecticut in New England for and in consideration of the Love and Good Will and affections which I have and do bear to my well beloved son Thomas SPENCER of Say-brook in the County aforesaid have given granted and alienated a certain parcel or tract of land lying and being in Say-Brook West Society on each side of the East branch of the five mile river where his new Dwelling house stands viz; all the land I have in that said tract bounded as follows, viz; Easterly upon the highway, Southerly upon land formerly laid out to James POST Deceased Westerly on Common land, Northerly upon Ebenezer BUSHENLL's land.

And another parcel of land containing Eight acres in said Society bounded as follows, viz; at the South end of the Iron Mine hill ye North east corner is a Chestnut tree, ye which is the corner of William BUSHNELL's land Dec'd, ye Norwest corner is a chestnut tree, ye Southwest corner is a Red Oak staddle, the Southeast Corner is a black Oak staddle, ye aforesaid trees are marked with stones laid at the roots of them.

To Have and to Hold all the above granted premises with all the priviledges appurtenances and Commodities to ye same belonging or in anywise appertaining to him he said Thomas SPENCER Jun'r his heirs and assigns forever to his and their only proper use and benefit forever.

And I the said Thomas SPENCER for myself my heirs executors and administrators do Covenant & grant to and with said Thomas SPENCER his heirs and assigns that I am the true sole and lawfull owner of ye above described premises at the ensealing hereof and have in myself full power and lawfull authority to convey the same as above said and that ye said Thomas SPENCER his heirs and assigns shall and may at all times forever hereafter enter upon have Hold possess and enjoy the said premises without any ejectment molestation or Incumbrance forever.

Furthermore I the said Thomas SPENCER for myself my heirs Executors and administrators do Covenant and engage the above Demised premises to him ye said Thomas SPENCER his heirs and assigns against all lawfull claims or demands of any person or persons whatsoever to Warrant Secure and Defend.

In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 9th day of December Anno Domini 1737,
