To all People to whom these Presents shall come-Greeting: Know ye, That I Lorenzo SMITH of Westbrook in the County of Middlesex & State of Connecticut for the consideration of Two hundred and Sixteen Dollars received to my full satisfaction of Lucy POST of Saybrook
Do give, grant bargain, sell, and confirm unto the said Lucy POST her heirs and assigns forever a certain piece of Land lying in the Town of Westbrook. Containing about seven acres be the same more or less & is bounded Southerly partly on Wm H. LAY 2nd & partly on Peter MURDICKS land. Westerly on Edward STANNARDS land. Northerly on Bessey JONES land. Easterly on Wm. H. LAY's land. The said Lucy POST is to support the whole of the fence on the west side. It being a piece of land Deeded to me by Joseph HILL 29 September 1832.
To have and to hold the above granted and bargained premises, with the appertenances thereof, unto her the said Lucy POST and heirs and assigns forever, to her and their proper use and behoof And also I the said Lorenzo SMITH do for my self and my heirs, executors, and administrators, covenant with the said Lucy POST and with her heirs and assigns; that at and until the ensealing these Presents I am well seized of the premises as a good indefeasible estate in fee simple; and have good right to bargain and sell the same in manner and form as is above written; and that the same is free of ?? all incumbrances whatsoever.
And Furthermore, I the said Lorenzo SMITH do by these Presents bind myself and my heirs for ever to Warrant and Defend the above granted and bargained Premises to her the said Lucy POST her heirs and assigns, against all claims and demands whatsoever.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal the 3rd day of September Anno Domini, 1850.
