To all Christian People to whom these presents Shall Come Greeting Know ye that I John SHETHER of Killingworth in the County of Newlondon and Coloney of Conecticut in New England for a valluable Consideration to me in hand paid before the Ensealeing here of by Sarg'tt William WELLMAN of the town County and Coloney afore s'd Have Given Granted Bargained Sold aliened Conveyed and Confirmed and Confirmed unto him the s'd William WELLMAN his heirs and assigns for Ever a Certain parcel of Land Scituate in Killingworth afore s'd lying in that field Called the Neck it being half a Rod in weadth of the westerly side of that part of my Neck Lot lying between the highway that Leads down to hodge point and the Cove or m??fying on the southerly side of s'd point in length from s'd Hgway to s'd Cove in Breath half a Rod bound Notherly by the afore s'd Highway westwardly by Sarg'nt Jonathan LANE's Land southerly by the meadow and Eastwardly by the s'd SHETHER's own Land To Have and To Hold the s'd Granted premises to him the s'd William WELLMAN his heirs and assigns forever to his and their only proper use benifit and behoof forever and I the s'd John SHETHER for my self my heirs Executors and administrators Do Covenant Grant and promise to and with the s'd William WELLMAN his heirs and assigns that before the Ensealeing here of I am the true sole and Lawfull owner of the above Bargained premises and have in my self Good Right full power and Lawfull authority to Bargain and sell the same in manner of above s'd and that the s'd William WELLMAN his heirs and assigns shall and may from time to time and at all times forever here after by force and vertue of these presents Lawfully peaceably and quietly Have Hold use occupie possess and Enjoy the s'd Demised premises free and Clear freely and Clearly acquitted Exonerated and discharged of and from all and all manner of former or other Gifts Grants Bargains sales or Incumbrances in the Law whatsoever moreover I the s'd John SHETHER for my self my heirs Executors and Administrators Do Covenant and Engage the above Granted premises unto him the s'd William WELLMAN his heirs and assigns against the Lawfull Claimes or Demands of any person or persons or persons whomsoever forever here after to warrant secure and defend In witness where of I the s'd John SHETHER have her unto set my hand and seale this Eighth Day of march Anno=Dom'ic 1727/8 and in the first year of his majesties Reign George the Second King of Great Brittain &c
