Deed from Deborah SELDEN and Samuel SELDEN to Thomas ROE
Know all Men by these presents that We Deborah SELDEN & Samuel SELDEN both of Lyme in the County of New London and Colony of Connecticut in New England Executors of the last will and testament of Capt. Sam'll SELDEN Late of Lyme deceased In consideration of one hundred and twenty six pounds old tenor in value to money to us in hand paid to full satisfaction by Thos. ROE of Say-Brook in ye County aforesaid Do give grant Bargain sell convey & confirm unto him the said Thomas ROE his heirs and assigns forever in fee simple one certin piece or tract of land lying and being in the North part of Say-Brook lying a little to the North of John GRAVES house Containing by estimation thirty four acres be the same more or less Bounded as follows beginning at the Southeast corner at a white oak stadle marked stones to it standing by the highway, thence Westerly Sixty rods to an ancient bound standing by a Ledge of Rocks, thence Northerly fifty five rods to a stake & stones to it thence Easterly fifty two rods to a chestnut bush marked stones to it thence Northerly to a black Oak Staddle stones to it being bound of Gideon DUDLEY's land thence Easterly fourty six rods to a stake and stones to it standing by the highway, thence Southerly by the Highway Seventy six rods to the first mentioned Bound.
To Have and to hold the above granted and bargained premises with all the appurtenances or priviliges thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining to him the said ROE his heirs & assigns forever furthermore we the said Deborah SELDEN & Sam'll SELDEN executors Do for ourselves our heirs executors & administrators Covenant & ingage to Defend & secure the premises against all the lawfull claims of any person or persons whatsoever.
In confirmation whereof we have hereunto set our hands & seals this 9th day of September 1745
