Deed from Proprietors to James WRIGHT
Feb'y 8th 1722/3
The we ye subscribers by ye Desire of Mr. James WRIGHT of Saybrook have laid out two pieces of land in ye aforenamed Township one piece of land is laid out partly between ye two hills called by ye name of high hill & Chestnut hill & is bounded one hundred and 44 Rod on said WRIGHT's land lying on ye hill called ye Chestnut hill & thirty six rods on land not layed out on this being ye East part of land now laid out & is bounded west 180 Rod partly not laid & partly on eye afores'd WRIGHT's land lying on ye hill called high hill & bounded north sixty four Rod on Common land & South is bounded fourty two Rod on land not laid out the north east Corner is a black oak tree ye northwest Corner is a Crotched birch tree & is ye North East Corner of said WRIGHT's land on ye high hill ye south corner is a White wood tree & is ye South West Corner of WRIGHT's land on Chestnut woods hill ye South west of ye said land now laid out is also a white wood tree all which trees are marked with J.W. & stones laid at ye roots of them In these boundaries there is fifty nine acres & 100 Rod The other piece of land we ye subscribers lay'd on ye south end of hill called horse & is bounded upon land formerly layed out James WRIGHT Dec'd 80 rod and bounded South upon land allowed for a highway or Country road to Killingworth from Saybrook 42 Rods bounded East 80 rod upon land not laid out & it is bounded north on land not laid out 38 rod ye Northwest Corner is a heap of stones & is ye N. East Corner of James WRIGHT's deceased his land layed out for a two hundred pound Right laid out the day above mentioned by us
