Deed from Proprietors to Thomas SPENCER

Say-Brook March ye 5th 1728/9,

Then laid out to Mr. Thomas SPENCER Twenty acres of land in Oyster River Quarter In SayBrook afores'd a little South east of ye meadow called three cornered meadow on both sides of ye River called falls River, We began at the Southeast Corner of Major CLARK's Land being a black oak Tree mared and stones about it thence we ran South Westerly ninety three Rods to a Chestnut Tree thence Northerly by he Highway Sixty seven Rods to a White Oake staddle standing by ye highway on ye North side of ye said falls River thence Westerly Seventeen Rods to the first mentioned monument all which trees are marked with TS & stones about them which twenty acres is laid out for ye Division last agreed on by ye proprietors of s'd Quarter fifteen acres of it upon a fifty pound Right that was Capt CHAPMAN's and the other five acres upon a fifty pound Right that belongs to the SPENCER;s laid out ye day abovesaid
