Land Laid out to Thomas SPENCER
We whose names are under written have layed out to Thomas SPENCER of Saybrook on piece of land lying in Oyster River Quarter in ye town afores'd ye land is bounded on ye west upon ye highway that leads from Pochauge to Potopauge 24 Rods which highway is twelve rod wide bounded South upon ye highway that leads from Oyster River to ye way afores'd Seventy Eight Rods this highway is six rods wide at ye Northwest place and ye Eastermost End of ye land now laid out its ten Rod wide from Caleb SPENCERS Corner tree to a White Oak tree which is ye Eastermost End of ye Land now laid out bounded Northerly upon Jared SPENCER's Land ye North west Corner is a Rock which is in ye s'd Jared's line the Southwest Corner is a heap of stones and a stake so that from ye afores'd white Oake tree to the stake is 108 Rod but there was land laid out to ye said Thomas SPENCER before & the land that we now Laid out is on each side of that land before laid out & is a three cornered piece in which boundaries there is Eight acres & Sixteen Rod one acre & two thirds parts of an acre was layed out before the remainder being six acres and one third part is laid out for one third part of a fifty pound Right which Right was bought of John CLARKE laid out this 22d of February 1719/20
