Deed from Proprietors to Samuel COMSTOCK and Family Record of Cornelius POST

Say Brook May ye 27th 1731

We the Subscribers by ye Power given us by ye proprietors of Potopague Quarter in ye Township of Say Brook have laid out for Sam'll COMSTOCK one piece of land in ye Quarter aforesaid to ye westward of John CLARK's Orchard we began at a maple tree which is ye Southeast Corner & Ran ten rods Northerly to an old stump by a highway which is ye North East Corner then Westerly Eight Rods to a heap of stones by ye side of ye hill which is ye Northwest corner then Southerly twelve Rods to a maple tree which is ye South west Corner then Easterly Six rods to ye aforementioned maple tree which bounds there seventy seven Rods.

The second piece of land laid out to the said COMSTOCK lyeth on ye North west of shady hill & bounded as follows we began at a black oak tree which is ye bounds of land formerly laid out to John CLARK Jun'r & we Ran Northerly fourty Rods to a Wallnut Staddle marked which is North west Corner then Easterly twenty six rods to a Black Oak Staddle which is North East Corner then fourty rods Southerly to a White Oak Stadle which is ye Southwest Corner then Westerly twenty six rods to ye afores'd mentioned black Oak Tree in which bounds there is five acres and an half so with the first half acres there is five acres fenced in is ye full of the Eight acres and one acre fenced in to ye s'd COMSTOCK by ye proprietors of Petapauge Quarter so that the land is bounded West on Common and Northerly on Commons Land & Easterly on Commons & Southerly on land belonging to John BULL laid out by us measurers for Petapauge Quarter.
