Deed from Samuel SANFORD to Jonathan DUNK

To all People to whom these presents shall come GREETING: Know ye that I Samuel SANFORD of Saybrook in the County of New London and Colony of Connecticut in New England for the consideration of Two hundred & Sixty four pounds & ten shillings in bills of Public Credit old tenor Received to my satisfaction of Jonathan DUNK of the same Saybrook Have Granted & Conveyed & by these presents Do give Grant Bargain sell & confirm unto the said Jonathan DUNK his heirs and assigns forever one certain tract or parcel of land lying and Being in the Parish of Chester in ye Township of Saybrook, aforesaid being the half of that lot that formerly belonged to my Grand father Zachariah SANFORD of said Saybrook deceased together with that piece of land lying at the Westward end of the same which I lately bought of Col. WILLARD which with the said half Lot contains Thirty Acres & ten rods and both pieces together are bounded as follows viz: West upon the Highway North partly upon the land of Deacon WARD & partly on the land of Charles DEMMING untill it comes to a white oak tree 134 rods from the aforesaid Highway Thence Southerly 20 rods to a red oak tree by the edge of the swamp untill it comes to Dan'll SANFORD's land then bounded partly by said Daniel SANFORD's land & partly by Capt. LORD's land untill it comes to the aforesaid Highway.

To Have and to Hold the above granted and bargained premises with the appurtenances thereof unto him the said Jonathan DUNK his heirs & assigns forever to his & their own proper use and behoof And Also I the said Samuel SANFORD Do by these presents for myself my heirs executors and administrators Covenant with the said Jonathan DUNK his heirs & assigns that at and untill the ensealing of these presents I am well seized of the premises as a good Indefeasible estate in fee simple and have good right to bargain & sell the same in manner & form as is above written and that the same is free of all Incumbrances whatsoever & furthermore I the said Samuel SANFORD do by these presents bind myself my heirs forever to Warrant and Defend the above Granted & bargained premises to him the said Jonathan DUNK his heirs & assigns against all claims & demands whatsoever

In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal the Twenty ninth day of December in the 20th year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second of Great Brittain &c., King Annoque Domini 1746.
