To all Christian People to whome these presents shall Come greeting Know ye that I Rebeca RUTTY of Killingworth in the County of Newlondon and Coloney of conecticut in New England for a valuable Consideration to me in hand paid before the Ensealeing here of by my son in Law John CARTER of the afore s'd Killingworth the Receipt whereof I Do hereby acknowledge have given granted Bargained sold aliened Conveyed and Confirmed and by these presents Do fully freely and Clearly and absolutely give Grant Bargain sell alien Convey and Confirm unto him the s'd John CARTER his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract of Land it being a lot Laid out to me in the 11th Division in the township of Killingworth lying a little East from s'd John CARTER's house beginning at a heap of stones the northeast Corner Boundary of s'd John CARTER's 11th Division thence Runing westerly sixteen Rods to a heap of stones thence northerly two Rods and a half to a heap of stones thence Easterly sixteen Rods to a heap of stones thence southerly two Rods and a half to the first mentioned Corner Containing one quarter of an acre Bounded southerly by s'd John CARTER's Land Every way Elce by Common To have and To Hold the above Bargained and granted premises with all the appurtenances privilidges and Comodities to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining to him the s'd John CARTER his heirs and assigns forever to his an their only propper use benifit and behoof forever and I the s'd Rebeca RUTTY for my self my heirs Executors & administrators Do Covenant promise and grant to and with the s'd John CARTER his heirs and assigns that before the Ensealeing here of I am the true sole & Lawfull owner of the above granted premises and have in my self good Right full power and Lawfull authority to Bargain and sell ye same in manner as above s'd and that the s'd John CARTER his heirs and assigns shall and may from time to time and at all times forever here after by force and virtue of these presents Lawfully peaceably & quietly have hold use occupie possess and Injoy the s'd granted premises with the appurtenances free and Clear freely and Cleary acquitted Exonerated and discharged of and from all and all manner of former or other gifts grants bargains sales or Incumbrances in the Law whatsoever more over I the s'd Rebeca RUTTY for my self my heirs Executors and administrators Do promis and Ingage the above granted premises to him the s'd John CARTER his heirs and assigns against the Lawfull Claimes or Demands of any person or persons whome soever forever here after to warrant secure and defend in witness hereof I the s'd Rebeca RUTTY have here unto set my hand and seal this 27th Day of Septem'r AD 1736 and in the tenth year of the Reign of our sovereign Lord George the Second King of Great Brittain &c
