To all People to whom these Presents shall come:--Greeting.

Know Ye, That I Nathaniel REDFIELD of Killingworth in the County of Middlesex & State of Connecticut

for the consideration of two hundred eleven Dollars & 50 cents

Received to my full satisfaction of William CARTER the Town County - Do give, grant, bargain, sell and confirm unto the said William CARTER his heirs & assigns forever-one certain tract or parcel of land in the Township of Killingworth at a place known by the name of Franklin's pond with a dwelling house thereon standing - it being the lot of land I purchased of s'd CARTER being bounded as follows - beginning at the northeasterly corner near the hay stack at a heap of stones & running southwardly 2 rods, to a heap of stones - then westwardly 17 rods to a heap of stones - thence northwesterly 13 rods to a heap of stones - Northeasterly 6 rods to a heap of stones - thence Easterly by highway to the first mentioned corner - bounded easterly & southerly by highway & westerly by Nathaniel HURD & Northerly by W'm CARTER - containing one hundred and fifty seven rods of land.

TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the above granted and bargained premises, with the appurtenances thereof, unto him the said W'm CARTER his heirs and assigns forever, to his and their own proper use and behoof. And I the said Nathaniel REDFIELD do for myself and my heirs, executors and administrators, covenant with the said W'm CARTER his heirs and assigns; that at and until the ensealing these presents I am well seized of the premises, as a good indefeasible estate in fee simple, and have good right to bargain and sell the same in manner and form as it is above written, and that the same is free of all incumbrances whatsoever.

AND FURTHERMORE, I the said Nathaniel REDFIELD do by these present bind myself and my heirs forever, to warrant and defend the above granted and bargained premises, to him the said W'm CARTER his heirs and assigns, against all claims and demands whatsoever. Always provided that these presents are upon condition that if the s'd Nathaniel REDFIELD his heirs Executors & Administrators shall well & truly pay s'd W'm CARTER his heirs Ex'rs & Adm'rs one certain note > by him February A.D. 1813- for two hundred eleven Dollars & 50 cents payable in one year with interest according to the tenor thereof then this present deed to be void & of none effect otherwise to remain in full force power & virtue

IN WITNESS whereof, I have hereunto set my hand & seal this 24th day of February Anno Domini 1813
