To all People to whom these Presents shall come:--Greeting.
Know Ye, That I Nathaniel REDFIELD of Killingworth in the County of Middlesex & State of Connecticut
for the consideration of one hundred Dollars & eighty cents
Received to my full satisfaction of W' & George CARTER the Same Town & County -
Do give, grant, bargain, sell and confirm unto the said W'm & George CARTER their heirs & assigns forever-one certain tract or parcel of land in the Township of Killingworth at a place known by the name of Franklin's pond with a dwelling house thereon standing - it being the lot of land I purchased of W'm CARTER being bounded as follows - beginning at the northeasterly corner near the Hay Scake at a heap of stones & running southerly two rods, to a heap of stones - thence westwardly 17 rods to a heap of stones - thence northwesterly 13 rods to a heap of stones - thence Northeasterly 6 rods to a heap of stones - thence easterly by highway to the first mentioned corner - being bounded easterly & southerly by highway & westerly by Nathaniel HURD & Northerly by W'm CARTER - containing one hundred and sixty seven rods of land be the same more or less
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the above granted and bargained premises, with the appurtenances thereof, unto him the said W'm CARTER & George CARTER their heirs and assigns forever, to his and their own proper use and behoof. And I the said Nathaniel REDFIELD do for myself and my heirs, executors and administrators, covenant with the said W'm & George CARTER their heirs and assigns; that at and until the ensealing these presents I am well seized of the premises, as a good indefeasible estate in fee simple, and have good right to bargain and sell the same in manner and form as it is above written, and that the same is free of all incumbrances whatsoever. Always provided that these presents are upon condition that if the s'd Nathaniel REDFIELD his heirs Ex'rs & Adm'rs shall well & truly pay s'd W'm & George CARTER their heirs Ex'r & Adm'r a certain note of hand by him the s'd Nathaniel REDFIELD well executed & dated the 24th day of February A.D. 1813 on Demand for one hundred Dollars & 80 cents with interest according to the tenor thereof written one year from the Date this present deed to be void & of none effect otherwise to remain in full force power & virtue
