Deed from Oyster River Proprietors to Hexekiah WHITTLESEY

Then We the subscribers Measurers of land for ye Proprietors of Oyster River Quarter in Say-Brook aforesaid laid out to Hexekiah WHITTLESEY thirty acres of land in said Quarter on the North end of Lyon Meadow Hill, We began at a heap of stones ten rods Northward of a Great Chestnut tree which is Sam'll CHALKERS Norwest Corner from thence we ran Northward twenty six rods to a small white oak tree, thence we ran still northward fourty four rods to a white oak tree which is the Northwest corner, from thence we ran Easterly sixty rods to a white oak staddle, from thence Southerly thirty rods to a chestnut tree with a beach tree neer it standing on the west side of a ledge of rocks, from thence still southerly thirty eight rods to a heap of stones which is Jonathan HOPKIN's Northwest corner and this piece bounds Southerly eighty rods on said HOPKIN's land and every other way else on Common land all the trees above mentioned are marked and stones laid about them, and is in full of the proportion belonging to a fifty Pound Right which Lieut. WHITTLESEY bought of Robert BATE; in the two last Divisions.
