Deed from Oyster River Quarter Proprietors to Nathan POST

To all Persons to whom these presents shall come Greeting Know ye that We Jared ELIOT of Killingworth, Nath'll CLARK & Caleb CHAPMAN both of Saybrook & all of the County of New London being a Committee Appointed & Impowered by the proprietors of Oyster river Quarter to sell some part or parcels of the Common & undivided land in said Quarter for ye payment of the quarters debts &c.

We have therefore for the consideration of the sum of Twenty pounds old tenor paid to the proprietors for the use aforesaid by Nathan POST of the same Saybrook have granted & in behalf of sd proprietors & by these presents Do give Grant Bargain sell & confirm unto the said Nathan POST his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land containing five acres lying & being in Oyster River Quarter aforesaid adjoining to his own land & is bounded North & West on said POST's own land. the west side lying 28 rods in length, South partly on Common land & partly on Jonathan JONES' land & East on John POST's Land

To Have and to Hold the above granted & bargained premises with all the appurtenances thereof unto him the said Nathan POST his heirs & assigns forever to his and their own proper use & behoof. And also we the said ELIOT, CLARK & CHAPMAN Do for said proprietors their heirs executors & administrators Covenant with the said Nathan POST his heirs and assigns that at and untill the ensealing of these presents said proprietors are well seized of the premises as a good Indefeasible estate in fee simple and have good right to bargain & sell the same in manner & form as is above written and that the same is free of all incumbrances whatsoever. And furthermore we the above said Grantors do by these presents Bind said Proprietors & their heirs forever to Warrant & Defend the above granted & bargained premises to him the said Nathan POST his heirs and assigns against all Claims & demands whatsoever.

In Witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals this 22nd day of November and in the 22nd year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George King of Great Brittain &c. Anno Domini 1748.
