Deed from Oyster River Quarter Proprietors to Abraham CHALKER
February 14th, 1739/40
The we the subscriber Measurers of land for ye Proprietors of Oyster River Quarter, laid out to Abraham CHALKER Seven acres and 44 rods of land in said Quarter in town ship of Saybrook in two pieces the first piece is on the West of his land above the three cornered meadow and is bounded Easterly forty eight rods thereon, and westerly forty eight rods on Samuel CHALKER's or Common land and North fifteen rods on Common land; the south corner is a crooked chestnut tree which is a monument of Samuel CHALKER's and his former land the North east corner is an ash staddle which is ye Norwest Corner of his aforesaid land the Norwest corner is a Walnut staddle.
The other piece we laid out on the South of his former land and Eastward of the east branch of Fall River and bounded Sixty eight rods north on his said land and East twenty five rods on highway and Southerly Sixty Eight Rods on Common land; the west corner is a Dogwood tree which is the northeast corner of Mr. Willoughby LYND's land and the North East Corner is a Blck oak which is the South East Corner of his abovesaid land and the Southeast corner is Red oak all which trees are marked with stones about the land is full of what his last was lapt on Obediah PLATT's land
